Have you longed to create detailed art using coloured pencils and/or watercolours but don’t know where to start? Have you tried to create art using coloured pencils or watercolour but struggled to get results that you are happy with? Are you struggling with certain elements of your pictures or could do with some helpful critique?
Here at M and J Art, our aim is to offer loads of techniques and tips to help you create the art you’ve always wanted to. We will show you how to use coloured pencils and/or watercolour, to create highly detailed pictures. We will teach you the basics of drawing, including shape and 3D form, how to measure your subjects accurately and how to capture lots of detail. When learning any new skill, you will need to set aside a bit of time, to practice these skills, in order to become more familiar with the process and gain confidence in using these mediums.
You will learn how to create texture, identify hues and the importance of highlights and shading and using tone to create form. We will explain how to use the colour wheel and colour theory, to achieve accurate colour matching.
Our style of art, as you can see, is detailed art with realism but once you’ve learned and mastered the techniques, you can develop and evolve your own style of painting and drawing, to create the art you’ve always wanted to. Our aim is to help you with your artistic journey, give you a supportive, creative community with like-minded people, in which to grow as an artist, to create your own individual style.
The beauty of the School is that you are in total control of when to set aside some learning time. We will provide two new tutorials per month (not many online artist’s sites offer this). One will be a watercolour tutorial and the other will be a coloured pencil tutorial. We will also provide a practice pic each month, as a challenge, for you to use your newly gained knowledge, to create a picture ‘going it alone’. This practice pic can be used for both watercolour or coloured pencils, or both! It’s entirely up to you. You will have access to all the step-by-step tutorials 24/7 and you can repeat any of the tutorials or knowledge base videos as many times as you like, during your membership, in order to hone your skills and work at your own pace. We want your experience in the School to be relaxed and most of all ENJOYABLE.

Got Some Questions......?
Can I download the videos onto my tablet or computer? The videos are hosted on the School website and can only be streamed (watched while you are connected to the internet), not downloaded onto your computer. So to access the tutorials you need to be a member of the School website, with an active subscription.
As a member, you have access to all the video tutorials, as long as you have an active subscription and you can watch them as many times as you like.
